Great art is all about moving the observer in some way, touching their hearts, conveying and inspiring any combination of mood, emotion, story, wonder, beauty/ugliness, message, and thought.

I like this a lot. You have nice clean selection edges, your typography is done well, and your color work is also done very well.

___________

From a Graphic Arts standpoint, this is a good design to raise awareness about the plight of our planet. If this is presented in a forum or media on that subject, it should do very well.

If it were used in a magazine advertisement, or on a billboard to the general public, I believe you would need to add text to the piece, or have accompanying text to connect the plight of our planet with this piece.

As a stand-alone ad (no other text description) there could be a problem. I must confess that when I first saw this piece, I thought it was about a man torn between good and evil. There is not enough for my mind to connect "Protect" and "Destroy" with with the plight of our planet.

For example, if "Our Planet" was in the piece, then "Protect" and "Destroy" would be automatically linked to the plight of our planet.

Even the title did not help. If the title was something like "Our Planet—;Protect or Destroy" that would help the public know.

So, for future design projects, keep in mind who the target audience is, and where it might be used.

If this piece were to be used in a setting of Environmental Global Awareness, such as a magazine on the subject, an art show on the subject, presentation on the subject, etc, then this piece is perfectly fine as is.

But otherwise, it needs a way to connect "Protect" and "Destroy" with the plight of our planet.

Despite my rambling on, please remember that I like this a lot, and that I am only giving you design tips.

Matthew
